This build-your-own burger bar has a simple enough concept: choose your meat, toppings and bun --- then enjoy. But the quality of the meats, either grass-fed or sustainably farmed, the diversity of the toppings (fried egg, foie gras and black truffle aïoli are among the extra options, plus different spice blends) and the freshness of the bread and cheese choices set Butcher & The Burger apart from its competitors. If beef’s not your thing, the menu also offers patties made with turkey, Gulf Coast shrimp and lentils and brown rice (vegan). Sides include fries, salad or chips. Satisfy your sweet tooth with a shake or homemade beignets. Ask about seasonal specials, such as elk, ostrich, venison and fried catfish and look for homemade sausage and bacon sandwiches with Café du Monde coffee at breakfast.
