The Highland Tap Restaurant Review:

This basement-level bar and restaurant, the sibling to adjacent Fontaine’s Oyster Bar, features stone walls, a huge wooden bar and lots of shadowy corners in which to tip back one of the better martinis in town (un-poured portions wait in a beaker placed in an ice-filled snifter for the ultimate chill). After classic appetizers such as spinach dip, most guests find room for red meat, although seafood alternatives and plenty of vegetable sides for vegetarians are available. The ample meat offerings include not only various steaks but also numerous sizes of prime rib, all the way up to a 28-ouncer. Sandwiches allow one to choose a smaller portion, such as a steak sandwich with horseradish sauce and grilled onions on a hoagie roll. We find the atmosphere a bit grungy, but there’s no denying the place’s popularity.
