Maritime Parc Restaurant Review:

At a restaurant, it’s all about the food, but even the hungriest diner will appreciate the beauty of this property. Located on the perimeter of Liberty Landing Marina, Maritime Parc is sleek and modern with sailcloth-inspired translucent scrims for accent and banquette, counter and table seating, as well as a Chef’s Table that offers views of the Hudson River and lower Manhattan. Executive chef/owner Chris Siversen’s kitchen delivers meals prepared with precision using quality seasonal ingredients, locally sourced, organic and sustainable. His penchant for bold flavors produces offerings such as pan-roasted mussels hot off the fire, steeped in their own liquid spiked with a healthy belt of Belgian wheat beer and a heady touch of mustard; and baked duck confit pasta gratin with a Cognac béchamel, caramelized shallots and dried berries. Despite notable appetizer and main courses, two humble sides may bring Siversen fame: duck fat fries served with garlic and parsley; and mash potato rings, which look like donuts fresh from the fryer (mustard fondue accompanies for dipping). The wine list is well-matched to the bill of fare, but take note of the specialty cocktails that are unique and uniquely named after shipwrecks off the Jersey coast. Do try the “Durley Chine,” a concoction of Ransom Gin, lemon thyme infused agave and lemon juice with soda. One last sweet note: the dessert list is short but inviting. You can’t go wrong with the chocolate tart paired with orange ice cream topped with salted caramel and bittersweet chocolate ganache. Staff is attentive and well meaning.
