Pam's Patio Kitchen Restaurant Review:

The ladies'-lunch look of Pam’s is reinforced by a midday menu that centers on soups, salads and sandwiches. But the varied audience suggests more is going on here. A gutsy gazpacho delivers yet another hint. Even a sandwich stuffed with chicken breast, marinated red onions and more comes across as (junior) leagues above the tuna-salad mentality of most tearoom-type places --- though a bold-sounding sandwich such as “Alex’s Big Rip” turns into a messy train wreck of chicken salad, Russian dressing and guacamole. The more-ambitious evening menu suggests a desire to branch out with appetizers such as Asian-inflected lettuce wraps and chicken tinga tacos, while entrées include the likes of Thai beef curry, “serious” black rib-eye or shrimp al mojo de ajo. But as much as we hate falling into the stereotypical dessert trap, Pam is a baking queen, and her cakes, lemon bars and luscious Key lime tarts are legends in the making.
