Salt Creek Grille Restaurant Review:
Right on Pacific Coast Highway, where South Laguna and Dana Point intersect and street lights don’t shine, this spacious Craftsman-style restaurant glows bright at night with its woodsy outdoor patio fire pits, minimalist Mission-period décor and lively jazz scene. The American grill cuisine ranges from entrée salads and burgers to mesquite-grilled seafood and hand-cut Prime steaks. You'll also find a few more modern touches on the menu, such as four-cheese lobster beignets; a superfood salad featuring toasted quinoa, kale, Brussels sprouts and feta; and chicken and prosciutto pasta with chorizo and goat cheese béchamel. If you only eat pork chops once a year, make it here. A soufflé is the must-have dessert --- be sure to order one with your entrée, so the kitchen has plenty of time to prepare it. Salt Creek’s weekend brunch features a menu of individually prepared items that emphasize fresh, locally inspired cuisine, like the huevos rancheros highlighting slow-roasted pork, pico de gallo, and charred tomatillo citrus brown rice. Private dining rooms are reserved months in advance for rehearsal and anniversary dinners, executive meetings and other affairs built around business or pleasure.
