The Veranda is a welcome retreat for North Houston denizens craving upscale Texan cuisine favoring Gulf Coast seafood and Texas beef. As well, the elegant décor of this charming old home nestled in the forest of Kingwood is the ideal setting for a date. Start your meal with the whiskey-and-molasses-glazed drunken quail before deciding between the Southwest chicken stuffed with cotija cheese and the bacon-wrapped pork tenderloin with a bourbon glaze. Among the few seafood dishes on the menu is the filet of mahi finished with a creamy mix of peppers, mushrooms, onions and crab meat.
