THIS RESTAURANT HAS CHANGED LOCATIONS Pico's Mex-Mex Restaurant Review:

Pico’s Mex-Mex sports a thatched outdoor palapa, a soothing indoor fountain and some of the best margaritas in Houston. It has dubbed its cuisine "Mex-Mex," an indication of how seriously it takes its authentic dishes from the interior and coastal regions of Mexico. Quesadillas are stuffed with spinach and roasted almonds for a surprising crunch. Specialties of the house include an achiote-marinated chicken breast baked in banana leaves; chicken mole sprinkled with sesame seeds; and the mancha manteles, a “tablecloth-staining” mixture of pork and chicken with plantains, sweet potatoes, apples and pineapple in a peanut and ancho chile sauce. Pico's also prides itself on preparing fresh Gulf Coast seafood dishes, a rarity in most Tex-Mex joints. Try the snapper filet sautéed in garlic oil and anointed with garlic chips, or the shrimp stuffed with poblano peppers, wrapped in bacon and grilled. Creatures of habit can still find their beloved Tex-Mex here, too, with a full page of the menu devoted to enchiladas, fajitas, tacos and chalupas. Visit Pico's for breakfast all week for fresh-squeezed orange juice and stout coffee paired with such favorites as migas (scrambled eggs with tortilla chips) or steaming bowls of bottomless menudo.
