THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Pigalle Restaurant Review: THIS RESTAURANT IS TEMPORARILY CLOSED FOR RENOVATIONS UNTIL THE END OF JUNE 2013 Owners Marc Orfaly and Kerri Foley turn out seductive dishes at this Theater District bistro, named for the red light district in Paris. The restaurant’s intimate dining room reflects the French, Mediterranean and Asian influenced dishes that are to come. A prix-fixe dinner may include a layered terrine of foie gras and glazed eel, steamed halibut wrapped in ramp leaves, and slow-roasted chicken breast with crab meat stuffing. On the à la carte menu, you might find rich yet earthy roasted tenderloin with lyonnaise potatoes. Other less traditional dishes include roasted salmon with Israeli couscous, lentil risotto and steamed mussels. Knowledgeable servers present a wine list that spans the regions of France while giving a nod to smaller new-world producers. For dessert, we recommend the ginger apple popover. |
