THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Plaza Grille Restaurant Review:
Plaza Grille is another of the host of restaurants on Federal Hill. Its perched in De Pasquale Plaza, near pastry legend Pastiche and some family-run markets. But Plaza Grille isnt just another restaurant. It has an angle---and that means something on the Hill. Though it is neighborhood in feel, its menu is a pleasant and playful departure from the Italian norm. While the tastes of the boot serve as an anchor, French technique and American inventiveness are welcome influences. Fab lobster cakes get their richness cut and coaxed by a caper hollandaise. Shrimp sizzle in a cheeky garlic and Red Hot sauce. Seared blackened salmon is way too 80s with raspberry cream. Main courses tend to work best when austere. Order something along the lines of grilled pork tenderloin with ginger-brandied seasonal fruits, linger over red wine and then wander around the corner to Pastiche for a sweet (the restaurant serves no dessert). We think youll be happy.
