Pollo Inti Restaurant, located in the sizeable Sugarland Plaza Shopping Center, draws in the lunch crowds. Specialties are the Peruvian and Central American dishes, with appetizers from the former including papa a la huancaina (steamed potatoes with a creamy cheese sauce) and the pupusa revuelta (corn flour tortilla stuffed with pork and cheese). Entrées focus on broiled chickens, whole or cut into pieces, assorted beef and fish items, and the star of the menu, the yucca con chicharron (fried pork cubes with yucca). But the kitchen wastes no time tantalizing patrons, so chances are picky eaters will find just the right meal. Kids have their own offerings, basically all-American, from burgers to hot dogs and chicken tenders. Desserts are minimal, and the best choice is the alfajores, or Peruvian cookies filled with caramel.
