Poquitos Restaurant Review:

Don't try too hard to hear anything at Poquitos; this place is for looking at the beautiful people and, through the moody lighting, the sexy ironwork decorations. James Weimann and Deming Maclise, masterminds behind the Ballard hot-spot Bastille, opened this spot to dish up authentic Mexican cuisine prepared with local Northwest ingredients. From the main dining room, enjoy views of the open kitchen where tortillas are hand-rolled and pressed from fresh masa. Or take advantage of the year-round patio, always available due to radiant-heated benches and flooring. The limited lunch menu features one of the restaurant's best dishes: a pork carnitas sandwich drowned in a guajillo red sauce. Other favorites include chipotle prawns and the brisket tacos topped with onion, cilantro and salsa roja. The tequila selection is vast, but drinks are poured on the weaker side. For dessert, indulge with refreshing pineapple popsicles.
