THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Potcheen Restaurant Review:
Chairs spill onto the sidewalk in warm weather, but inside it is cheery enough to chase any chills that may come. The black and white tiled floor and dark wooden booths are reminiscent of an Irish pub, (Potcheen is form of Irish whiskey) and indeed, Dublin-style, you can have a plate of oysters at the bar. Hanging out at that bar has become an activity for Center Citys younger crowd---you can watch sports, exchange cards, or try out the chicken cheese steak (a winner in a city full of cheese steaks) or the pulled pork sandwich with collard greens. Duck confit for the trendier group, or some angel hair pasta with roasted tomatoes and goat cheese. But, like all good pubs, the bell rings at eleven p.m. on weeknights, midnight on weekends.
