THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Prime Grille Restaurant Review:
Prime Grille took over a space once occupied by the longtime neighborhood anchor, Bywater Barbecue. A polished atmosphere complete with white tablecloths, crisp linen napkins and a surprisingly international wine selection all add to the attraction. Chef Kevin Fruits offers some creative dishes, including a crab meat-stuffed speckled trout with wild mushroom dirty rice. Slow-roasted pork loin with sage stuffing and apple chutney is a seasonal dish worth trying. Sunday brunch is priced a bit above the usual neighborhood fare, although the menu is mostly basic breakfast food. A real attraction is the lovely outdoor patio and bar, which is useable most of the year in temperate New Orleans. The cherry cobbler with homemade ice cream enjoyed while sitting under the night sky might just encourage a repeat visit.
