THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Quinnie's Restaurant Review:
After spending 15 years in the Southern food desert of New York City, Alabama native Willie Quinnie moved to Atlanta and dished up Southern-style meat-free vegetables and meats for the next 19 years. Then he sold the place to New York City native Al Gentilini. Gentilini’s few modifications include a summer menu featuring salads. Collard greens are still cooked with green pepper and onion for seasoning. Fried green tomatoes, beans, greens, good coleslaw, mac 'n' cheese, hand-cut fried okra and sweet potato casserole are all classics. Barbecue is the "falling-off-the-bone" sort, so purists will want to get theirs elsewhere. Carrot cake is made on-site and cobblers vary with the seasons. Sweet iced tea is quite good.
