THIS RESTAURANT HAS CHANGED NAMES TO MARKET PUB HOUSE. As a departure from his family’s signature pizza joints, John Racanelli launched this sit-down location in The Loop. The classic New York-style, brick oven-baked pizza is still available, but the focus now is on salads, panini and made-from-scratch pastas, along with a few bar-food-type appetizers, which, like Mama’s Meatball Sliders, may or may not be thoroughly Italian. For authenticity, head to the pastas, where linguine with clam sauce and penne puttanesca await. The wine list is short and mostly inexpensive, with three flight options to boot. For those who are seeking a simple on-the-go pizza fix, there’s a Racanelli’s Express on the premises.
