Rachel---who often waits on customers---keeps her tiny place cozy and clean, and there's a nice sampling of authentic Caribbean art on the walls, along with vintage travel posters harkening back to the glory days of the Jamaican bobsled team. The restaurant has wisely chosen to keep its menu small, thus enabling the chef to make everything with care. When you order a fish dish, like the red snapper, you get the whole fish, stuffed with julienne vegetables, herbs and spices then baked and served with fried plantains and Cajun rice pilaf. Jerk chicken is marinated with spices so good you want to finish more than the generous portion. The menu also includes Caribbean smoked baby-back ribs, rasta pasta, curried chicken and appetizers, soups, salads and sandwiches. For dessert, try coconut bread pudding with vanilla ice cream and rum-caramel sauce. Jamaican honey biscuits, served with every order, will make you wonder why there was ever an anti-carb craze to begin with.
