Red PrimeSteak Restaurant Review:
The historic Buick Building flaunts a modern interior design featuring suspended neon lights sweeping throughout the space, creating mystery and definition. A vast, ceiling-high wine wall is the restaurant's dramatic focal point and includes an impressive collection of over 300 wines. The Prime, dry-aged beef is offered with a unique selection of crusts and rubs (try brown sugar and sea salt or coriander) along with a variety of specialty sauces, so a new flavor combination may be created as often as you wish. Start with RP's Tomatoes, a tower of fried green and hothouse tomatoes with mozzarella, or the beef tenderloin tamales topped with roasted poblano chimichurri and sun-dried tomato cream. A bowl of well-balanced French onion soup might precede your steak, accompanied by Southern-comfort sides. Give the Prime bone-in "cowboy" rib-eye, the 40-day-aged rib-eye, and bone-in strips a shot. The menu also offers Southern fried chicken paired with house-made pickles. Convenient to many major downtown venues, Red PrimeSteak offers a pre-event prix-fixe menu that could be a complete event in itself, especially if you take advantage of the included desserts like warm chocolate spoon cake. Consider ending your meal with a liquid dessert, such as Ian's Brandy Ice, named for its creator.
