THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Redwood Park Restaurant Review:
Power brokers have a new spot to cut deals and indulge their pricey extravagances, now that George Morrone has opened this luxury dining room in the bottom floor of the Transamerica building. Grand paintings and dark wood juxtapose the shiny and bustling open kitchen inside the handsomely appointed room. Morrones new menu rivals his previous reputation, showing off his ability to match traditional techniques with contemporary cuisine. His signature dish, a pairing of rare tuna and caramelized morsels of foie gras perched atop a potato cake, will revive even the most tired taste buds. Whole Dover sole delivers subtle flavors with a tableside show of the best in old-school service. Upstairs the less formal bar, with a view of the namesake redwood trees, packs in martini drinkers and offers high-end, but somewhat bland, snacks alongside the downstairs menu.
