THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Repastoria Satyricon Restaurant Review:
Rustic Italian dining has arrived in the Castro in the form of a Roman supper club called Repastoria Satyricon. Chef-owner Jay Bagi calls forth the cuisines of Tuscany, Umbria and Lazio in dishes honoring house-made pastas and small game meats. The apéritif and antipasti bar is a nice place to begin the evening or end the workday. If you plan on staying for dinner, don't miss the classic Cesare salad or the Bieda alla Romana---Swiss chard wilted with garlic, raisins and pine nuts. House specialties include artichoke-and-goat cheese ravioli in a mint-basil broth, gnocchi in rabbit ragù and risotto with grilled quail. Brunch is also delicious with an Italian version of eggs fried in sliced bread and a scramble with fontina cheese, Italian sausage and sun-dried tomatoes.
