Restaurant Da Emma Restaurant Review

: Famously located in the basement of a building that housed the first women’s prison in Montreal, the setting is intimate, with old stone walls and wooden beams. As you walk through the heavy doors, pictures of stars who have dined there over the years grace the walls. Da Emma specializes in delivering classic Italian dishes, such as the standout lasagna. In the summer, you can enjoy your meal on the terrace. There are some slight inconsistencies in the dining experience---for a menu with such prices, one expects service to follow suit, which is regrettably not always the case. That said, it is without a doubt one of the finest places in Montreal to sample authentic Italian cuisine in an original setting, with friendly service and a well-situated bar.
