THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Restaurant K by Alison Swope Restaurant Review:

Since opening, executive chef Alison Swope has totally revamped the menu, shedding its former mixed message for one that shows off some Southern glamour and fine Southern and Southwestern fixings. To start, don’t miss the fried green tomatoes, a contemporary take on a Southern classic that features cornmeal-and-Parmesan-crusted tomato slices fried to a crunchy turn. You can also warm up with the smoked corn and green chile chowder or tuck into a chicken tamale. And then the real fun begins: entrées include an herb-infused chicken and dumplings, a Kentucky rib-eye accompanied by chilaquiles, and a crab and lobster shepherd’s pie sweetened with corn kernels. At noontime, her menu expands to include lusty sandwiches, entrée salads, and such main-course dishes as wild boar chili and chicken-fried steak. Save room for dessert, especially Swope’s pie of the day made with old-fashioned lard for a flaky and tender crust.
