Despite the name, this spiffy space in a Newton strip mall specializes in Szechuan-Hunan fare. The English menu doesn’t include the kitchen’s best offerings, so ask one of the servers for recommendations. In so doing, we’ve been guided toward tasty versions of stir-fried pork, five-spice tofu and black-pepper scallops with broccoli. There’s even a wine list to speak of.
