THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Tatsukichi Restaurant Review:
One of the city’s original sushi bars, Tatsukichi is part of a rather large Japanese conglomerate. The heritage shows in this semi-rustic looking room that’s made to look like a lodge deep in the Japanese countryside. Large wooden beams abound and there are five tatami rooms for communal eating. Sushi is always a good choice but so too is kushiage, crispy fried skewers of meat, seafood or vegetables served with two dipping sauces. Upstairs there’s a small lounge, Club 187, which is popular with traveling Japanese businessmen; but take note all are welcome and the scene can be interesting. After some 20 years, it’s still one of the city’ best Japanese restaurants and easily it’s most traditional.Map
