Modern British Gary Rhodes-style goes Art Deco at this discreet restaurant within a smart Pimlico apartment complex. It has well-spaced tables and is much frequented by MPs. The sleek navy, chrome and mirrored décor and windowless interior makes one feel aboard an ocean liner, as does the cossetting, well-informed, if sometimes gauche (forget the Gary Rhodes mannerisms please), service. Meticulously executed signature dishes include a hugely flavoursome faggot of spiced pigeon and stunning lobster thermidor omelette to start. Good fish choices include herb-crusted cod with velvet mash, whilst calf’s liver comes with an impactful blue cheese and bacon gnocchi. Puddings are exemplary: chocolate brioche with banoffi ice cream and the jaffa cake ensemble are memorable; the British cheese selection is good.
