THIS RESTAURANT IS TEMPORARILY CLOSED The Rib Room Restaurant Review:

The Rib Room is a London institution, much loved by the rich, the famous and the ordinary punter. Reopened after a sexy refurbishment by the fashionable designer Martin Brudnizki, there’s a glamorous cocktail bar and a recessed dining area as well as tables on the balconies, a cigar terrace and two private dining rooms. Chef Ian Rudge comes with top credentials, having worked with Nigel Haworth at Northcote Manor in Lancashire. He hasn’t rocked the boat, but continues to maintain The Rib Room’s reputation, introducing some modern classics. But the die-hards need not worry; they’ll still find dishes like smoked salmon with traditional garnish and the prawn cocktail that hasn’t changed in 50 years. The more adventurous might go for roasted lamb sweetbreads with caramelized cauliflower and toasted almonds to start, followed by wild sea bass with leeks and cod cheeks plus roasted salsify. But try as you might, the main attraction is the top beef from the Duke of Buccleuch’s estates in Scotland. There are also daily lunch dishes. If you have room, be sure to sample the desserts and cheeses on offer. There’s a set lunch, too; 2 courses for £19 and three for £25.
