THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Ribot Restaurant Review:

Named for a famous Italian race horse, this Midtown eatery serves upscale fare that covers Italy from the top to the tip of the boot. The high-ceilinged room is a feast for the eyes: a massive and ornate chandelier, made with Murano glass, hangs in the center while high windows display the large stock of wine. Service is professional and friendly without being intrusive. All this would be enough to excuse a mediocre menu, but executive chef Jeremy Griffiths does an admirable job making intricate Italian dishes appear simple. The menu changes a few times a year as it’s based on the availability of seasonal organic ingredients, but diners might find homemade gnocchi that’s lighter than usual (it’s made with less flour), baked cod spiced with saffron, and tender baby lamb chops. The Maine lobster and farro salad, fresh lobster chunks twirled with spelt grain in a tangy dressing, is a worthy bet.
