: The enchanting village of East Aurora is lined with grand Victorians---nestled among them is Rick’s on Main. The exterior, with its glorious wraparound front porch, is deceptive, for inside the décor is contemporary and sophisticated with hardwood floors, exposed brick, and trendy fixtures. If you must wait for a table do so at the open, two-story lounge where cushy couches provide a comfortable spot to relax with a latest concoction (there's a selection of unique martinis). Starters include yellowfin tuna marinated in soy then pan-seared with pickled ginger wasabi and served with an Asian jicama slaw; lightly spiced crab cakes served with rémoulade and sweet Thai chili sauce; and Southwestern shrimp fritters napped in spicy aïoli and Key lime sauce. The lunch menu offers hearty soups and sandwiches such as thinly sliced sirloin filet topped with sweet jalapeño relish, crispy shoestring onions, and pepper jack cheese on a toasted baguette. Dinner main courses include bacon-wrapped pork tenderloin drizzled with shallot-balsamic demi-glace and served with mashed sweet potatoes and seasonal vegetables. For dessert, the sinful triple layer chocolate torte is a chocolate lover's dream. Service is efficient and friendly and always professional. |
