Rider’s Inn is a restored, white-columned bed and breakfast about thirty minutes east of Cleveland, and has been dispensing hospitality since 1812. The inn’s pub is relaxed, rustic and stocked with imported English beers, plus it boasts a huge fireplace to cozy up to during cold Cleveland winters. The candlelit dining room, with white linen-draped tables, pistol-handled silver and cream-and-blue china, is straight out of Colonial Williamsburg. The food is serviceable. Start with the stuffed mushrooms or the baked Brie in a puffed pastry. Entrées include comfort favorites like meatloaf and pot roast served with a salad and soup. For an after-meal sweet, don’t miss the old-fashioned cherry and white chocolate bread pudding.
