![]() : This waterfront restaurant on the St. Clair River features an extensive menu of fish and seafood for which C.A. Muer establishments are known. The late Chuck Muer himself lived in this town, just an hour's drive from Detroit, and his boat could often be seen docked at the River Crab. The multi-level setting takes advantage of the water view, and there is a deck where many people enjoy pre-lunch or dinner drinks. The menu is constantly changing, with a catch-of-the-day as a hallmark. From lobster and perch to yellowfin tuna, the choices are wide. A standout among signature dishes is the potato-encrusted whitefish with crispy hash browns with bacon and onion and lemon beurre blanc. Not to be overlooked are finds like Charley's chowder, tart coleslaw, fresh green salads, garlic-roasted Yukon gold potatoes and house-made desserts, like Key lime pie and carrot cake. On Sundays, brunch hosts a live, strolling Dixieland jazz band. During summer, the outdoor patio seats are open for dinner and provide a fine setting for live entertainment, which takes place Wednesday through Friday. The wine list is extensive and offers a nice selection by the glass and bottle. Cocktails are a fine alternative. |
