River Styx Restaurant Review:

In Greek mythology, crossing the River Styx will take you to that place called hell. In Brooklyn, though, it will allow you to eat comfort food. Set near the East River (are they suggesting crossing over to Manhattan is hell?) in Greenpoint, the restaurant consists of an attractive curved bar up front and an atrium dining room out back, with an open kitchen splitting the rooms. Start with an order of suppli, Roman fried rice balls stuffed with southern Italian caciocavallo cheese and tomato purée. Or consider the popular nachos, stacked high with homemade tortilla chips, shredded chicken and jalapeños and doused with cheddar. Fusilli is interlaced with creamy kale pesto and hearty lamb stew is the perfect antidote to a chilly evening. Cocktails include The Citation: rum, Becherovka, coconut and lime. The wine list has some affordable bottles from untrammeled wineries in Lazio and elsewhere in Europe. If this is the way to hell, we’re happy to be here.
