Rivington Grill Restaurant Review:
White walls, a wood floor and some eye-catching art on the walls; this is an industrial space that fits seamlessly into the Shoreditch art scene so the odd famous face is perfectly at home. The menu is no nonsense which is something of a surprise, seeing the restaurant’s owners are Caprice Holdings, which also has The Ivy and Scott's in its stable. But stalwarts like smoked mackerel with samphire, pickled cucumber and potato salad or native oysters, followed by fish of the day or Barnsley chop with bubble and squeak are a treat. There are enough things to put on toast to satisfy the resolutely old-fashioned (smoked anchovies or soft herring roes) and desserts follow the same mould: try bread and butter pudding and custard if you haven’t tasted this before.
