: Diners at Robata can have it their way with the Overton Square ramen shop’s build-your-own bowl menu. Choose from several styles of noodle (thin cut, regular cut, fat cut or lower-calorie rice noodles) and homemade broth (pork-based, chicken-based or a vegetarian soy and seaweed version). Extra toppings may be added (marinated pork, boiled eggs, vegetables, corn, tofu, pickled mustard greens, etc.). One may also make a dinner of authentic Japanese yakitori (food grilled on skewers). The wine list is rather small and not especially interesting, but it does include one Japanese plum wine. Local Memphis Made Brewing craft beer is on tap, and assorted well-known Japanese beers are also available, along with a variety of sakés. Robata is located inside a converted historic home. Ambience is clean and hip with wooden floors and high ceilings, and there’s a small cocktail bar in the back. |
