THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED ROCK'N FISH Restaurant Review:

You’d think with its L.A. LIVE location and trendy name this place might be a corporate clunker, but it’s actually the opposite --- a fun, casual spot that dishes up surf ‘n’ turf with a focus on oak-grilling. It does rock (like the Manhattan Beach original), but not so loudly that you can’t hear your date; classics from the Stones to Nirvana wash easily over the California décor of a comfortable, spacious two-level room. Try the Navy Grog, a sultry dark rum concoction that’s not too sweet, and a nice complement to both seafood and steak. Don’t miss the signature oak-grilled artichoke, which is steamed then slightly charred, imparting a deep, oakey flavor to the heart and leaves. Icy fresh oysters offer a nice light starter, but clams splashing in a spicy andouille sausage and tomato broth are more piquantly satisfying. Savory Kapalua rib-eye marinates for three days in a pineapple soy marinade and finds the right balance of sweetness and smoke, while the lightly blackened halibut is grilled in a way that still lets the flavor of the fish stand true. Portions are generous, but save room for the bourbon-laced bread pudding.
