THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Rocks Restaurant Review:
The cuisine here tends to play second fiddle to the social scene-which is a shame, because while we’re not enamored of the self-consciously stylish supper club ambience, we’re favorable impressed by the Asian fusion fare. The appetizers range from simple tuna sashimi to a rather intimidating smoked salmon, tobiko and Maui onion pizza. Spicy shrimp salad is a great choice for those who monitor their calories closely. Most of the seafood entrées are Asian-inspired, though the meat and pasta dishes veer into more Western territory. The wine list is decent, though most of the happy hour drinkers seem to prefer Rocks’ outrageously priced cocktails. A couple of other things to consider before booking here: Crowds get thick when there’s live music, and the bouncers will not let you in if you don’t meet the club-casual dress standards.
