THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Roots and Rye Restaurant Review:
Roots and Rye is another of Chris Yeo’s (Straits, Sino) venues, this time with riffs on American comfort cuisine. A spicy-creamy tomato bisque accompanies unctuously simple grilled cheese on batard; deconstructed chicken potpie is topped with crunchy-crusted mini biscuits. Deviled eggs, chicken liver mousse and foie gras are among the diverse share plates. Don’t miss the red quinoa salad with blistered cauliflower, or the pork belly sliders. The turkey burger with pistachio gremolata, huckleberry jam and Brie on a potato-pepper bun is a signature offering. Brunch features duck confit hash and candy bar pancakes and waffles, along with maple-candied bacon, scrambled eggs and buttermilk biscuit. Cocktails feature barrel-aged bourbon and rye with all the classic flavors.
