Saigon Sisters Restaurant Review:

The Saigon Sisters (aka Mary Nguyen Aregoni and Theresa Nguyen, who were born in Laos and lived in Vietnam and Thailand) opened this counter service joint just blocks from their popular kiosk at the Chicago French Market. Smack dab beneath the El tracks, the hyper-urban space maintains a sunny coziness that's conducive to perusing the paper with a morning cup of Café Du Monde coffee or slowly nibbling your way through the twenty-item lunch menu. Dig into The Porky --- a pork belly banh mi, slathered with tangy hoisin sauce --- and the sliced duck ramen soup with a poached egg, bok choy and mushrooms. Wash down whatever you choose with a bottle of tasty, aloe-studded coconut milk.
