Sails on Lavender Bay Restaurant Review:

There is hardly a dining setting with a better view in Sydney, because here, right outside your tableside window, is Luna Park and the harbor, with Sydney Harbour Bridge framing the opera house. Perched absolutely on the waterside, the restaurant may be accessed by road, a ferry or water taxi. The seasonal seafood-leaning menu utilizes local products. In what could be a fisherman’s cottage given its site, the interior is smart and worldly, the ideal foil for refined contemporary dishes such as freshly shucked oysters with mignonette dressing or galantine of pork and quail with fresh fig for an entrée. Choices on the main menu include the likes of Cone Bay barramundi served with curried cauliflower and date and lime chutney. Grainge eye fillet is flanked by parsnip, black fungi and cavolo nero with miso jus. Desserts are worth lingering over, with vanilla crème brûlée with banana and parsley ice cream a favorite, as is pineapple and coconut Eton mess, which comes with pineapple sorbet, passion fruit jelly and coriander. Or instead, go for a cheese plate. For groups with time to spare, there is nothing better than a relaxed seven-course dégustation with the striking vistas for company. The wide-ranging wine list proposes a number of options by the glass.
