Santacafe Restaurant Review:
While the décor at Santacafé is a bit severe, with whitewashed walls adorned only by an occasional set of antlers, the dining experience, like the crayons atop every table, is colorful and unpretentious. The restaurant features contemporary Southwestern fare with the occasional Asian twist, like cactus and shiitake mushroom spring rolls with a spicy ponzu sauce. There are a number of enticing seafood dishes, including the signature shrimp and spinach dumplings and the citrus-crusted halibut with a buttery orange-cilantro sauce. Homemade ice creams and sorbets provide a lovely finish to any meal --- the coffee bean ice cream with piñon crisps and homemade cajeta (caramel syrup) is not to be missed. Service is attentive, and the interior courtyard provides a charming setting when the weather warms.
