Started by Bianca Mudu, whose father, Romolo, started and runs Sardo, this child is equal to the parent. In a development on the Regent's Park Canal, the venue cleverly uses the brick vaults used by the canal barges on different levels as well as a small courtyard with a 300-year-old olive tree. The cooking is as notable as the setting, showing off mainly Sardinian dishes---and sparklingly fresh Sardinian ingredients---with flair. Antipasti run from grilled mixed vegetables to a terrific platter of meats and cheeses; mains include the classic spaghetti alla bottarga and grilled marinated lamb with potatoes and leeks. Simple, yes, but beautifully cooked and presented. Dolci might include tortino of ricotta served warm with a mirto sauce and ice cream or layers of panettone with a Champagne sauce. The Sardinian theme runs through the wine list which is a delight. Service is relaxed; both owners are frequently there. Set 3-course Sunday lunch £23.
