THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Saucy Restaurant Review:

This unusual eatery offers a menu that requires some hefty decision making, and a décor that includes 200 aromatic sacks of spices and lentils hanging from the ceiling. Diners choose a sauce from an overwhelming list of 48, to be paired with filet mignon, organic chicken breast or pasta. Having trouble finding the right combo? Ask the server. You won’t be steered wrong. There’s a pleasing variety of soups, salads like the caprese, and spreads such as a creamy hummus. The kitchen fares well with offbeat combinations, as in the dense homemade gnocchi which finds a deserving match in the smoked salmon sauce, while the traditional linguine with mussels is slightly ordinary. The caramelized pear sauce, called Crimson, makes a luscious coating for the beef; a Calvados sauce dresses chicken breast nicely. Some fish options are available but given the restaurant’s focus, they serve as mere postscripts. The do-it-yourself concept can be fun if your appetite allows for adventure.
