THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Savannah Supper Club & Lounge Restaurant Review:

THIS ESTABLISHMENT IS CLOSED Restaurateur David Wilhelm has made sure cats don’t have nine lives by closing his Parisian-themed Chat Noir and transforming it into one of his restaurant group’s more successful concepts, Savannah. Fortunately, Wilhelm made just minimal changes to the restaurant’s décor, giving the place an even classier feel. Lovers of Wilhelm’s Moulin Rouge jazz club will be happy to find the swanky lounge has not been touched whatsoever, including the entertainment. Chef Joe Youkhan has made vast improvements in the surf ‘n’ turf menu, mostly by adding a nightly four-course menu paired with wine. Another plus: Guests can order anything from the seasonal tasting menu à la carte. We enjoy the pistachio-crusted lamb loin with maple-vanilla bean sweet potato purée. Some of the other main course standouts include the Zinfandel-braised short ribs, filet mignon with Rogue Creamery smoked blue cheese and the maple-glazed Berkshire pork chop. Longtime Savannah aficionados know to order the restaurant’s signature hot Scharffen Berger chocolate soufflé while requesting their entrées. The wine list features well-chosen bottles primarily from California and Oregon producers.
