Now located in Logan Square, Savoy Truffle is still small, comfortable and as rare as the fungi it is named after. This tiny gem (seats 24) shines far more often than not. Do be aware that this operation runs by the seat of its pants, however, so if the owner decides he needs a night off, then he takes a night off. Why not? A call ahead is an absolute necessity. Once you’re in place, be prepared for some interesting culinary fireworks. The six-course prix-fixe menu here clearly has more changes than the weather around Chicago in winter, but then, that’s what makes the place a real find.
