: This outpost of restaurateur Jimmy Ishii’s regional Sekisui chain of restaurants has dim lighting and water walls, and offers traditional sushi rolls and more inventive dishes. Consider lobster tails with orange zest and Thai cream sauce or the teriyaki burger with shiitake mushrooms and American cheese. Even the ramen noodles are dressed up with shrimp, scallops and squid. Presentations are artful in the Asian aesthetic. Eager for dessert? Try the banana tempura with chocolate sauce and vanilla ice cream. Service ticks like friendly clockwork, while the wine list is designed to complement the many flavor combinations and contrasts that come from this high-energy kitchen. The Gloria Ferrer Brut will ably handle many of the dishes, especially the sushi. For other quaffs, check out the extensive beer list or the many saké offerings. |
