THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Serendipity Restaurant Review:
The old American Can Company factory was converted into upscale condos that include restaurants, among them Serendipity. Original chef Chris DeBarr has departed the Mid-City establishment. Current chef Gabriel Beard’s menu runs the gamut from traditional grilled Gulf fish with citrus butter to cherry-smoked chicken with tomato jam. Serendipity boasts a chandelier made of wine bottles and a romantic white-tablecloth setting that overlooks only a parking lot. Meanwhile, the bar has a very twenty-first-century look with sexy lighting.
