This elegant Italian dining room downtown draws a business crowd for both lunch and dinner and is especially busy before or after a concert or theater performance at the nearby Bob Carr Auditorium. A gracious host is always at the front door, ushering you to a booth or table in the small dining room. Their creamy soups, accompanied with a salad, make a perfect lunch. The Dover sole is our favorite entrée, baked with lemon butter. For a bigger appetite, request the veal scaloppini layered with eggplant and roasted peppers, or the thick veal chop. Pasta in every variety is on the menu, from a simple spaghetti in red sauce to spinach fettuccine with gorgonzola and pine nuts. The crème brûlée is excellent. A substantial wine list includes French, Italian and American vintages.
