THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Shizen Restaurant Review:

There’s lots to like in this colorful restaurant, complete with a popular sushi bar, a busy dining room with table seating, and two teppan tables with granite tops where chefs prepare food to order with dramatic flair. Beautiful water features and lush landscaping enhance patio dining. The teppanyaki menu offers choices including vegetables, chicken, filet mignon, lobster, salmon steak, white prawns and scallops, accompanied by miso soup, garden salad, vegetables and fried rice. Among the appealing à la carte appetizers, we like the ahi poke --- fresh tuna with seaweed, macadamia nut and sesame oil marinade --- and the deep-fried soft shell crab with orange ponzu sauce. Several signature rolls are offered, such as the Japanese burrito, with furikake mix, shrimp tempura, avocado, soy paper and spicy motoyaki sauce. We also like the seafood ramen noodle bowl with shoyu broth, scallops, shrimp, mussels, enoki mushrooms and shredded leeks. Sakés and a nice wine list complement the cuisine. Among sweet finales is a trio of mochi: red bean, mango and green tea; Mandarin orange sherbet; and green tea cake.
