Silas's Steak House & Bayside Bar Restaurant Review:

It's easy to miss this restaurant in that it sits in a small shopping area, across the street from a beach resort. Still, it's popular with tourists for a number of reasons. First, it's close to the Gulf Beaches, sitting along the Intracoastal Waterway. Also, it's full of stylized decorations that pay homage to Silas Dent, legendary beach bum in these parts for many years. But these touches are offset by leather upholstered booths. Steaks, seafood and chicken are always options. In addition to the usual filet mignon, New York strip and T-bones, you'll find grilled garlic chicken breast, blackened prime rib, blackened grouper (when in season) topped with a tropical salsa, and complimentary house bread, served with sun-dried tomatoes, basil, garlic and cream cheese spread. Pretzel bread and pretzel-encrusted mahi mahi are available as well. There are special house sauces for the steaks, often including black pepper brandy, béarnaise, creamy mushroom, Dijon or portobello. Also popular are "family-sized" entrées (each designed to serve four) like “Family Blackened Chicken Alfredo”: pan-seared chicken breast seasoned with Silas's special seasonings, served over egg noodles and tossed with a homemade Alfredo sauce, accompanied by garlic toast.
