THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Simply It Restaurant Review:

Zen and contemporary in feel, this affordable Vietnamese place is a breath of fresh air in a high-rent district. And while noodle shops on Argyle Street may well “feel” more authentic, their atmosphere often leaves something to be desired. Orange, celery and exposed brick walls give way to a menu --- courtesy of Tuan Nguyen (Pasteur) --- that’s full of garden-fresh offerings. The pho is a sight to behold: thin ribbons of beef floating in aromatic, star anise-infused broth come with a plate of fresh herbs, fiery peppers and bean sprouts to add in. Hanoi shrimp fritters --- thatched sweet potato baskets cradling battered crustaceans --- are pretty and satisfying. During lunch, the bun bo xao --- beef topped with crushed peanuts and torn herbs --- is a winner. During dinner, do not miss the garlicky and spicy sate shrimp, followed by mixed berry cake with Chantilly cream for dessert. Wash it all down with Vietnamese coffee, prepared from hand-pressed chicory coffee. Plan to BYOB, and know validated parking is offered in the Children’s Memorial Hospital parking garage.
