For the best view of the city, hit the Skyline. It's cozy and hidden away on the top floor of the dramatic Hilton-Americas downtown. You'd think with all this to look at---smart interiors in an ultramodern blue and caramel palette, with beaded metal curtain---that the food would come second. But it's right up there with the view. French-trained chef Dominick Mancino hails from New York and his experience shows. Presentations are stunning on modern, clean white ceramic platters. Don't miss his takes on fresh seasonal produce, like the naturally sweet charred corn bisque floating with kernels right off the cob and topped with a giant shrimp and bright tortilla slivers. The portobello mushroom with artichokes comes with delicate micro greens tossed in Spanish cava vinaigrette. Roasted vegetable-filled ravioli takes pasta to new heights---flecked with red sun-dried tomato and green basil for a high-tech look, then topped with seared scallops. Meatier choices include Moroccan spiced chicken, laced with cardamom and coriander; and tomato jam-marinated grilled New York strip, accompanied by sautéed spinach tossed with pine nuts. The sky seems to be the limit for Mancino's experimental flair.
