Slope's BBQ Restaurant Review:
Bob White launched his enterprise in Hickory Flat, Ga., north of Atlanta, in a former two-chair barber shop. That was in 1990. Today, White has franchised the operation, making a total of four Slope’s BBQ establishments operating across the northwest metro Atlanta area. St. Louis-style ribs are meaty and nicely seasoned and smoked, and the medium-bodied, tangy spicy, tomato-based sauce is well balanced. Brunswick stew features an appealing fresh taste, with its mix of meats, including chicken and pork, and corn (that’s the correct approach, without a mishmash of other vegetables). If the sausage is available, grab it, and get the combo plate with the rib. And remember: It's "sauce on the side, please." Mac ‘n’ cheese is fair, but the creamy slaw makes a delectable embellishment, although the celery seed is just a mite too much. Have the cobbler for dessert, although there's also banana pudding. No alcohol. Other locations.
